Aeria Games has announced that it will launch Spanish and Portuguese versions of its free-to-play MMOFPS Special Force when the game enters its second round of closed beta testing on January 26. Special Force is a game that lets players equip their characters with real-world weapons that have realistic in-game statistics. Aeria Games plans to update the game in the future with new character models and equipment that will let players design realistic female operatives.
Special Force lets players make their character a member of one of several elite real-world special forces, including the French GIGN, the German GSG9, and the British SAS. Game modes include Team Battle, Deathmatch, and an upcoming Horror Mode that features zombies. Users interested in participating in the Spanish closed beta test can register here. International launches can do a lot to boost a game’s activity and monetization, as Zynga’s international launch of CityVille eventually proved.
