Social developer Playdom is partnering with NBA Digital to launch new game NBA Dynasty, a management-style game that lets players create NBA dream teams from more than 9000 player seasons ranging from 1946 to the present. Players will be able to compete against virtual NBA stars, NBA championship teams, and their friends’ teams. NBA Dynasty will also feature over 1200 video clips of NBA highlights from the 2010-2011 NBA season. The game will mark Playdom’s first partnership with a professional sports league.
Players can view the video clips in NBA Dynasty when a particular player performs especially well in the game. Players can affect the outcomes of ongoing games by creating their own starting line-ups, using time-outs, and making substitutions in real-time. Players can also develop their team’s fan base, arena, and coaching reputation. The game will be accessible directly from the NBA Website as well as on Facebook. The NBA says the game is part of its commitment to social media, which has made the NBA a top sports league on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
