Today PlaySpan announced that the popular social virtual pet game FooPets would be joining the family games accepting payment through the Ultimate Game Card. FooPets serves a community of roughly five million users who can access the game through Facebook, MySpace, or Korea's Cyworld social networks. It is one of the few social applications that incorporates 3D graphics into its visuals, rather than simpler 2D imagery.
The Ultimate Game Card is available in over 45,000 retail outlets throughout the US and Canada. It is the prepaid card that currently supports the greatest total number of online games, including Runes of Magic and Outspark. The Ultimate Game Card's international availability is probably attractive to FooPets, which is currently making a big push into the nascent Asian social gaming market. FooPets is just over one year old and banks on its realistic 3D visuals to set it apart from other virtual pet games. [This post originally appeared on Virtual Goods News]
