Event producer Engage Digital, in collaboration with South By Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals, presents the first Tech Career Expo @ SXSW featuring 45 employers offering 2,000 jobs tied to development, design, engineering, management, marketing and sales.
Finding your next job may be as easy as venturing out to the Austin Music Hall for some light networking on March 9-10. Tech Career Expo @ SXSW runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 9 and Noon to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10. Jobseekers can visit the optional pre-registration page at techcareerexpo.com/talent, or just stop by the Austin Music Hall.
These companies are innovators. For attendees, this is the opportunity to engage with interesting companies focused on taking business and technology to the next level. Jobseekers will find everything from well-funded, early-stage startups to late-stage startups, established firms and public companies.

Available positions are located across the country and around the world. A number of the hiring companies are Austin-based; however some participating companies and jobs are based in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Some are located as far away as Brisbane, Australia; London, England; Singapore; and Chennai, India.
Recruiters at Tech Career Expo @ SXSW are looking to SXSW’s international audience as a powerful source for talent and have identified the following positions as those most highly sought-after and difficult to fill: software engineers and developers, cloud architects, interactive user-interface and experience designers, technical trainers, channel-enablement managers, Web analytics strategists, GIS database developers and system/network administrators. Not every position carries a techie badge. Participating companies also need business analysts, product marketers, sales managers or more.
Additionally, recruiters say they will be especially on the lookout for hard-to-find skills that run the gamut from software development in Python, PHP, Linux, Apache and MySQLWeb development frameworks, to those involving UI Architecture, JavaScript OO Design and JavaScript frameworks/libraries in Sencha, MooTools, JQuery, etc. Companies are also searching for CSS expertise and professionals versed in Selenium, Chef/Puppet, Openstack, Ruby on Rails, Matlab, Pro/E, SaaS, and virtualization. Storage area network experience and information security skills and are also highly sought after, as are skills in Django, PostGIS, Sitecore, SharePoint, UX, Java and Drupal.
