Moshi Monsters Magazine Sells Out
Mind Candy has announced that the inaugural issue of the Moshi Monsters Magazine has sold out its entire initial print run of 80,000 copies. Mind Candy says these sales “dwarf” the circulation of competing magazines and indicate the strength of the Moshi Monsters brand. The Moshi Monsters virtual world serves over 40 million registered users worldwide, a figure that Mind Candy says includes one in every two UK children aged 6 to 12. The Web-based virtual world lets kids adopt the Moshi Monsters as virtual pets and care for them.
The print magazine is the latest in a growing line of physical Moshi Monsters merchandise that includes toys, books, and trading cards. Each monthly issue of Moshi Monsters Magazine is 52 pages long and contains content including comic strips, competitions, free gifts, puzzles, gameplay tips, user-generated content, and unique codes that unlock virtual items and other content in the Moshi Monsters virtual world. Moshi Monsters Magazine is published by SkyJack Publishing and costs £2.99 ($4.94) per issue.
