GoldRun and ADStruc have partnered with Tronic to create an interactive AR billboard in New York City. The billboard, which is near the Holland Tunnel, reads ‘Today I’m Feeling _____’. Users with GoldRun’s location-based smartphone app can view the billboard’s ‘feelings’ with their handsets. The billboard is GPS tagged, so a number of different images can appear as part of the billboard’s ‘feelings’ at the same time. Users can tag the billboard with AR emoticons and share their feelings with others through Twitter and Facebook.

The billboard is part of ADStruc’s ‘Billboards for Everyone’ campaign that partners with designers and artists to promote creativity in public spaces. Previous ADStruc billboards have posted art of Shepherd Fairey’s Studio Number One depicting migrant workers chased by police alongside an Arizona freeway. ADStruc’s ‘Billboards for Everyone’ campaign is designed to help promote ADStruc’s online platform, which is designed to make buying outdoor advertising simple for both individuals and corporations.

Other partners active in Billboards for Everyone include JWT New York and SPREAD Art and Culture Magazine. The program will continue throughout 2011 with input from contemporary designers and artists. GoldRun’s augmented reality platform is specialized for use in location-based ad and brand promotions. The company closed a $1.1 million round of angel funding earlier this week. GoldRun’s brand partners include Barnes & Noble, Esquire, Sorel, Airwalk, and H&M.
