SaaS billing solution provider Vindicia has opened its first UK office. The company says the new office will help Vindicia capitalize on widespread demand for its services in Europe, particularly in online gaming. Former Oracle executive Adrian Jenkins is will join Vindicia as Vice President for Europe to lead the company’s European operations. Jenkins also oversaw European operations at Oracle. Jenkins has also held senior sales positions at Portal Software.

“We have always envisioned Vindicia as a marketing asset for digital merchants around the world,” said Vindicia co-founder and CEO Gene Hoffman, in a press statement. “Our team’s experience with global clients before we founded Vindicia, as well as our experience with global clients since the inception of Vindicia, reinforce our belief that our client success in the U.S. is transferable to clients around the world. Establishing a UK and European base of operations in London led by a talented and experienced executive like Adrian will enable us to take this success to the next level.”

Jenkins will support existing European Vindicia clients like Moshi Monsters creator Mind Candy and also focus scaling to meet demand for Vindicia services in the region. Vindicia says that the European expansion underscores its rapid growth over the past year. Now 25% of all transactions Vindicia processes through its CashBox service come from end users who live outside the US.  Vindicia lets international users pay in local currency, communicate in local languages, and accept payment types popular in a given region.

Regional payment methods Vindicia plans to support in Europe include Maestro in the UK and European Direct Debit/ELV in Germany and Austria. Vindicia also plans to help merchants automatically calculate any local sales taxes required by an end user’s transaction. The UK office will serve as Vindicia’s European base of operations for now, although the company plans to open additional regional offices elsewhere in Europe later this year. Vindicia has also recently partnered with Global Collect.
