Virtual Greats Brings Domo Goods To WeeMee Avatar Creator
Virtual Greats and Big Tent Entertainment are bringing a line of virtual goods based on the Domo character to WeeWorld’s iPhone app, the WeeMee Avatar Creator. The goods will be available for in-app purchase in a pack called the Domo Closet which contains 15 different Domo-themed assets including hats, shirts, accessories, backgrounds, and Domo pets. The Domo Closet will sell for $4.99. Asset packs for the WeeMee Avatar Creator typically sell for $.99 to $9.99 apiece.
“The initial Domo campaign on WeeWorld’s popular social gaming site, WeeWorld.com, was such a success that we wanted to carry that viral momentum into the mobile arena as well,” said Rich Maryyanek, CMO of Big Tent Entertainment, in a press statement. “WeeWorld helped us reach and, more importantly, engage its expansive teen audience by creating virtual assets that really spoke to our fans. We expect the new mobile assets will lead to similar success in the iPhone community.”
WeeWorld’s WeeWorld Avatar Creator is the top-selling avatar app for iPhone and is also available for Android. Domo was created in 1998 to serve as the mascot of Japanese television station NHK. The initial line of Domo virtual goods offered in WeeWorld proved so popular that the line was expanded, complete with a themed shop that sold only Domo goods. Domo has also appeared in a virtual goods line for the Sony Online Entertainment virtual world Free Realms.
