Recently-funded mobile social developer Pocket Gems (formerly Streetview Labs) has announced its first “multi-million” dollar month of revenue. Pocket Gems says its games were installed 2.5 million times in the past month, bringing the company’s total download count to over 18 million. The company expects to hire an additional 40 people by the end of the year and has immediate openings for engineering, artist, and product manage positions in its San Francisco office. Pocket Gems says that all of its games have topped the various App Store charts, with its Tap Zoo currently ranking on the Top Grossing chart.

Earlier this month Pocket Gems received a $5 million round of funding from Sequoia Capital, which the company plans to use to fund its growth plans. Tap Zoo and Tap Farm are Pocket Gems’s most popular titles out of its current stable of about five games. Tap Farm is notable in that it’s a FarmVille imitator that was available on iOS a full year before Zynga’s official FarmVille app. Pocket Gems plans to expand to the Android platform as well as to begin developing iPad-oriented versions of its games.
