Ad offer network gWallet has partnered with Xfire to become the exclusive monetization partner of the Xfire Arcade tournaments, in which gamers will compete against each other in games of skill to win prizes. Xfire serves over 17 million users worldwide with average concurrency of over 200,000 players at any given time. Xfire Arcade’s new tournaments are sponsored by Lenovo and Turtlebeach, offering $100,000 in prizes. Players will be able to use gWallet to earn Xcoins, a virtual currency that users must spend in order to enter the Xfire Arcade tournaments or advance their gameplay.
Xfire Arcade will be available through Xfire’s site as well as on social networks like MySpace and Quepasa, with the tournaments targeted at males 16 to 30. This target demographic spends over 9 million minutes on Xfire per month, at a rate of 490 minutes per user. The first game to be featured in the Xfire Arcade tournaments is Heli Fighter, a game exclusive to Xfire Arcade. gWallet is already a monetization partner of over 150 brands including Adidas, Microsoft, and AT&T.
