Social network Miso, which lets users “check-in” to TV shows and earn badges for what they watch, has recently updated with the ability to let users check-in to specific episodes of a TV series. Users can also now edit and update the metadata for any movie or TV series supported by Miso. Users profiles are now expanded to include bio, location, and website alongside a list of TV shows the user is following. The Miso app for iPhone, iPad, and Android have updated to include notifications.
The updated Miso will also support Facebook Connect. Miso has also rolled out a number of special promotions in the past few weeks, like a QVC promotion that encouraged people to check-in to the channel over the Black Friday weekend to earn The New Black Friday badge. An ongoing promotion is “Minion Madness” for the DVD and Blu-Ray release of the film Despicable Me, which lets users earn branded Minion badges when they check-in to a TV series that features an appearance by the Minions.
