The freemium racing MMO Drift City will move from its current home at Ijji.com to GamesCampus on November 1. Ijji.com's servers for Drift City will close on October 28th. Players who want to transition their accounts to GamesCampus's servers can begin the process at any time between September 30 and October 28th. Players who do not want to transfer can have their characters deleted and get compensated for Gcoins virtual currency spent on that character.
"GamesCampus is committed to bringing a variety of quality online entertainment to our players so we are excited about the addition of Drift City to our lineup," said Uyen Uyen Ton Nu, Head of Marketing for GamesCampus, in a press statement. "Drift City offers a large and stylish persistent game world and hundreds of single player missions this game and when we take over service of the game we will also be bringing several new updates that players will really enjoy!"
A player who decides to transfer their account will need to fill out an informational form at Ijji.com, then get a PIN. The player will later enter the PIN at GamesCampus's server to add their old character to their GamesCampus Drift City account. Players will only be able to transfer 1 character from an Ijji.com account to a GamesCampus account. The character's level and obtained vehicles will transfer, but not the character's parts, mito items, and option items.
GamesCampus says those items won't transfer because they plan to upgrade the game on their servers to a new, simpler, and more flexible inventory system. GamesCampus is also going to issue a new content update for Drift City at launch, containing new locations and player options. GamesCampus hopes to compensate players who are losing items in transfer with new mito items, time-based virtual currency, and other items.
