Earlier today at Engage! Digital Expo in Santa Clara, MyYearbook announced that its Currency Connect virtual currency exchange program would add the virtual world platform Meez. MyYearbook says that with the addition of Meez, the Currency Connect program now includes many of the top teen social networking and virtual world sites online. The Currency Connect partners in total serve over 12 million monthly active users who generate nearly 2 billion monthly page views.

"The success of Currency Connect relies on the success of our partners," said Geoff Cook, CEO of myYearbook, in a press statement. "All Currency Connect partners have experienced a direct increase in registrations through this platform as well as benefitting their members with a new way to use virtual currency, proving Currency Connect is beneficial for social networks in more ways than one. We are confident that Meez, and additional future partners, will share in these successes as well."

Currency Connect is a cross-promotion and user acquisition program that links the virtual economies of various online teen sites through their virtual currencies. Users can exchange the virtual currency of any Currency Connect partner, such as MyYearbook's Lunch Money, for virtual currency amounts in any other partner platform using fixed exchange rates. Currency Connect helps drive engagement by giving users more ways to spend virtual currency.

The Currency Connect program also gives users more opportunities to purchase virtual currency, driving higher monetization for partners. Meez users will soon be able to use their Meez Coinz Cardz to purchase MyYearbook's Lunch Money (and vice versa). The Currency Connect program is overseen by Senior Vice President of Business Development Scott Levine. Currency Connect's partners include numerous teen virtual worlds like WeeWorld and IMVU.
