Zynga Going Exclusive With Facebook Credits
Facebook Credits are now the the exclusive payment method accepted by Zynga in its Facebook social games. Individual games will still use their specific virtual currencies, like Reward Points, but users will only have Facebook Credits, wire transfers, prepaid game cards, and third-party ad offers as options when purchasing game-specific virtual currency. The only Zynga game where Facebook Credits are not yet active is Zynga Poker.
Going forward, Zynga expects to incorporate Credits into all of its Facebook games. Zynga is the last of the major Facebook game developers to go exclusive with Facebook Credits. CrowdStar tested Credits last year then went exclusive early this year. Earlier this year, other top Facebook developers RockYou, Playdom, LOLapps, and Wooga signed Credits exclusivity deals with Facebook. Facebook Credits will not appear as a payment option in Zynga games appearing off the Facebook platform, such as on Yahoo or FarmVille.com.
