Ad offer network gWallet is launching a new platform for smartphones that will let mobile app developers use virtual currency to generate revenue through branded offers and installs. gWallet will partner with mobile ad exchange Mobclix to expand the new platform's potential reach. The partnership will let gWallet create premium virtual currency offers for mobile platforms which Mobclix will help distribute. gWallet will also provide a self-service solution that will deliver targeted, relevant ads to consumers.

"gWallet is changing the demand equation," said Krishna Subramanian, co-founder of Mobclix, in a press statement. "As an exchange, we see this as a premium opportunity for publishers, as gWallet’s demand from agencies and advertisers is truly unique. We'll work closely with gWallet in extending a new class of offers to the mobile consumer – offers that embrace the new and growing demand for virtual currency as a form of payment."

App developers will also have the option of extending the reach of those offers through Mobclix and purchase installs through an auction platform. The auction format is meant to ensure that developers pay the lowest costs possible and to help keep the process of purchasing installs risk-free, since downloads will be guaranteed. gWallet plans to develop or modify its offer content so it is more relevant to mobile users, allowing mobile developers to promote through other apps.

gWallet emphasizes that it sources its offers directly through major brands, avoiding use of the third-party ad affiliates that were often blamed when fraudulent or misleading ad offers showed up on competing ad offer networks. gWallet has conducted campaigns with over 120 brands from sectors as diverse as beverages, retail, and computer security. By adding mobile, gWallet hopes to make its platform attractive to an even wider range of brands.
