Teleplace Gets New Funding, CEO
Virtual world Teleplace has raised a new round of funding, hired Anthony Nemelka as its new President and CEO, and named co-founder Greg Nuyens Chairman of its Board of Directors. The amount of the new round of funding was not disclosed, nor the investor, but Teleplace plans to use the money to grow its product so that it can better address the needs of commercial, government, and education customers that wish to deploy mission-critical 3D immersive environments to distributed workforces.
"Teleplace has created impressive and proven immersive technology that has been successfully deployed in highly secure, large-scale enterprise-class environments," said Nemelka, in a press statement. "My focus is to further enhance our technology platform and build out scalable, robust and highly collaborative solutions that can be easily integrated with existing systems."
Anthony Nemelka is a pioneer in the development of social business collaboration solutions. Nemelka is the founder of Helpstream, one of the first commercially available social CRM products available to enterprise customers. In the past, Nemelka has filled executive management positions at companies like IBM, Peoplesoft, Adobe, and Socialtext. As CEO of Teleplace, Nemelka's mission is to help accelerate development of the company's platform.
