Today the Japanese game developer Hudson Soft announced that it would add support for the Open Feint social gaming network to all of its iPhone titles. As part of the partnership, Hudson Soft will add five games to Open Feint's "Free Game of the Day" promotion. The five games will be World RPS, Shooting Watch, Catch the Egg, Aqua Forest 2, and Haunted Pics.

As part of the Open Feint integration, Hudson Soft will be adding achievements and global leaderboards fully compatible with Apple's upcoming Game Center network to its iPhone titles. Hudson Soft is one of Japan's oldest software developers, known primarily in the West for its long-running Bomberman series of games. In the past decade Hudson Soft has focused aggressively on development for mobile platforms.

So why is Hudson Soft going with Open Feint instead of simply rolling changes out when mandated by Apple for Game Center? The answer lies in the fact that Open Feint's parent company Aurora Feint is backed by Japanese mobile network DeNA, which frequently partners with Hudson Soft for Japanese mobile game products. Open Feint's Japanese backer means the product shows up regularly in Japanese iPhone games, including Hudson Soft's.
