This week ngmoco announced that it had acquired Touch Pets Dogs co-developer Stumptown Game Machine for an undisclosed sum. Touch Pets Dogs has gone on to garner five million downloads as a free app since its release for iPhone in November 2009. Stumptown will retain its own name, brand, and base of operations in Portland, Oregon as part of the terms of the deal.

Stumptown is the latest in a long series of iPhone and social acquisitions for ngmoco. In late February ngmoco acquired rival iPhone developers Freeverse and Charadium after raising a $25 million round, with intent to convert both companies' products into freemium games. Last November, ngmoco acquired social developer Miraphonic.

Going forward, ngmoco intends to work with Stumptown on a sequel to Touch Pets Dogs.
