Today the mobile social gaming platform Scoreloop announced the launch of a new set of monetization tools for its Scoreloop SDK. The new tools will allow every Scoreloop game to feature its own in-game virtual currency and give developers the technology to quickly build virtual goods storefronts inside their apps. Scoreloop CEO Marc Gumpinger says the new tools are intended to make the Scoreloop SDK more useful to developers of freemium games.

Scoreloop is showcasing its new monetization features in the new iPhone game Astro Ranch and the iPad launch title Parachute Panic HD.  The SDK remains completely white label, so developers are free to customize things like store interfaces and GUI components. Where prior versions of Scoreloop relied on competition to give games a multiplayer aspect, the new version is designed to support co-op gameplay. Users will be able to work together to obtain virtual goods, for example.

Gumpinger says that Scoreloop is the only iPhone social platform that will be directly compatible with the iPad upon launch. This means that many of Scoreloop's freemium games will be available iPad users, while most paid download apps for the iPad are believed to be increasing their prices. Gumpinger believes this will make Scoreloop's games even more competitive on the iPad platform, at least initially, than they were on the iPhone platform.
