Today the social fantasy football game Quick Hit announced that it had acquired 1 million registered users in its first five months of operation. The game has also become part of a distribution agreement with IGN Entertainment, which will make the game directly available through IGN's family of sites. This will expose Quick Hit to all visitors at high-traffic sites like IGN.com, Direct2Drive, AskMen.com, and FilePlanet

Quick Hit will roll out on the IGN network during its "off-season," with intent to build up to a 2010 season launch. In the meantime the site is rolling out new features like tutorials, play-by-play commentary, and social features that reward players with virtual currency for logging in once per day. Quick Hit launched its virtual currency and goods elements early last month.

The distribution deal with IGN seems like a very sweet one on the surface, but Quick Hit may find the value of the IGN network traffic to be lower than expected. None of the sites in question are social gaming destinations, so users may simply have no interest in joining the game. AskMen.com is probaby the best of the network's prospects for Quick Hit.
