News Brief: Allopass Appoints New UK CEO

UK payments service Allopass today announced the appointment of Ben Humphry as the new CEO of Allopass UK. Humphry will also oversee Allopass operations in Ireland. Humphy comes to Allopass from Adtoma UK, a Swedish advertising technology company, where he served as Managing Director.  

Humphry's appointment comes as part of a broader global expansion effort on the part of Allopass, driven by its French parent company Groupe Hi-Media. Allopass has strong payments reach throughout Europe, offering service at 300,000 merchants distributed across 55 countries. 

The company is looking to expand its presence in the North American market in 2010 through a new US office established in San Francisco and lead by Poojitha Preena, one of the first US employees of Skype. In the US the company wishes to focus on offering payment services in the social media sphere, especially for social games and other media that deal in virtual goods.
