Popcap_0 Casual game developer Popcap, the company behind popular casual titles including Zuma and Bejeweled, today said it had hired Robert Chamberlain as its new Chief Financial Officer. The privately held game operator hinted at taking itself public by identifying Chamberlain's previous  roles with F5 Networks, Onyx Software, Watchguard Technologies and other companies as resulting in those companies going public or "some other liquidation [event] at a significant premium." Earlier this summer, Popcap stepped into the virtual goods sector via a partnership with FlowPlay and ourWorld.com. The deal enabled ourWorld players to win virtual jewelry items for their avatars as well as have various other ways to shop for virtual items while playing Popcap titles in the ourWorld.com game portal/virtual world. Chamberlain replaces interim CFO Karla Horwitz.
