Today SmartyCard announced the addition of the Zwinky Cuties virtual world to its roster of virtual rewards affiliates. SmartyCard is a prepaid card that allows parents to reward children for completing goals with amounts of the card's universal virtual currency. SmartyCard offers a catalog of tangible goods children can opt to buy with the reward currency, but most kids prefer to spend their reward currency buying virtual goods in one of SmartyCard's partner virtual worlds.
"With our commitment to children ages six and up, partnering with SmartyCard was a natural fit," said Zwinky Cuties General Manager Dae Mellencamp. "Zwinky Cuties provides kids with a
safe and fun online environment while SmartyCard allows them to learn
the value of hard work and choices. Zwinky Cuties is excited to be one
of the newest choices for SmartyCard kids."
Other youth-oriented virtual worlds that are SmartyCard partners include Bella Sara, Club Penguin, and Stardoll. Parents, family members, and approved friends can add currency to a child's SmartyCard through account functions maintained on the SmartyCard.com Website. Children can also earn amounts of the currency by playing educational games and taking online quizzes. When the time comes for children to spend their currency, they can only purchase parent-approved items from the physical catalog or from approved virtual world partners.
