Today Offerpal Media announced a new addition to its Managed Offer Platform, an analytics feature called the Virtual Currency Analytics package. The new package allows developers of virtual worlds, social networks, and online games served by Offerpal Media to analyze the activity and monetization performance of users based on up to seven different demographic user details. Which details are used to create the analyses are chosen by the developer, with Offerpal offering examples like user level, character type, and account age as examples of possible metrics. Analysis based on basic demographic user data is also possible.

The Virtual Currency Analytics package will be offered for free to all current users of the Offerpal Managed Offer Platform. While the package only allows seven basic demographic attributes per application to be analyzed, up to 1,000 different parameters can be associated with each attribute. Key metrics the packages can report back to the developer include revenue, impressions, unique visitors, offer clicks, offer completions, conversion rate, revenue per click and earnings per click. Data can be returned to the user in graph form.

Offerpal states that the integration process for its new analytics tool can be completed within roughly ten minutes. It can report data back to the developer covering up to a 90 day period initially, but Offerpal stated to Virtual Goods News that future versions of the Virtual Currency Analytics package should allow for data tracking over longer periods of time.  The intent is to help developers optimize their payouts from Offerpal by tracking information about what types of players are engaging with offers and how much revenue they're generating. The idea is clearly that once reporting starts, developers can start making adjustments to the game's virtual economy or other in-game elements in order to encourage higher conversion rates.

By entering the analytics field, even with a free product, Offerpal is expanding its scope into an area of the virtual goods space previously dominated by companies like TwoFish and Sometrics. Of course, Offerpal's product is free and already integrated into a platform that many virtual goods businesses opt to use anyway, since ad offers are an excellent way of monetizing users who don't want to pay for virtual goods directly. As a way to keep clients sticking with Offerpal as the ad offer space grows increasingly crowded and competitive, the Virtual Currency Analytics package certainly can't hurt.
