Today Offerpal Media announced that it would add OutSpark to its Managed Offer Platform. This will allow OutSpark's community of four million users to gain the portal's virtual currency, SparkCash, by accepting sponsored ad offers. SparkCash can be spent in any of OutSpark's games, including Fiesta, Secret of the Solstice, Wind Slayer, and Project Powder, and on virtual items for use in the portal itself.

"Both advertisers and publishers are taking advantage of the free-to-play
online gaming industry," said Anu Shukla, CEO and Founder of Offerpal
Media. "Outspark has smartly targeted the 15- to 25-year-old consumer
sector, offering them a wide range of stimulating, quality games. We are
excited to partner with them and provide highly effective monetization
solutions for their platform and the broader social Web."

OutSpark has made waves recently with the announcement of incredible $50 ARPU (or possibly ARPPU) revenues drawn purely from selling virtual goods and currency to users of its casual games portal, which also successfully integrates many social network features like chat, user pages, and "walls." Adding currency offer support at this stage would seem necessary to grow conversion of free users, since it's likely everyone who's going to spend in OutSpark is already doing so. Even users in the unbanked set are covered on OutSpark with the Ultimate Game Card.

"We're excited to be working with Offerpal to give our users great ways to
earn free SparkCash," said Wilson Kriegel, VP Business Development at
Outspark. "With SparkCash, users can purchase in-game items and portal
items for themselves and their friends. Offerpal allows more of our users
to customize their gaming experience."

Offerpal has been going through a period of rapid expansion, as the OutSpark announcement comes on the heels of the Managed Offer Platform entering the Aeria Games MMORPG portal and the company raising 15 million in Series B funds. There's been little word on the status of Offerpal's announced intent to expand its platform to iPhone, especially in light of the OS 3.0 restrictions on virtual currency, but the company has still been issuing a steady stream of news announcing expansions in other directions. It will be interesting to see what platforms Offerpal moves its product into next, as it's clear the technology has been worked out to allow for easy integration into freestanding game portals and other PC platforms.
