At the Virtual Goods Summit this morning, Fouad ElNaggar, Principal, Redpoint Ventures, gave a brief overview of his company’s interest in the space with a list of some of their investments. Notable was a brief blurb, though no amount, about portfolio company Wello Horld. Wello Horld is a stealth startup working on the "real-time social Web, where you can see, be, and do anything, with anyone, anywhere online." I’d heard Wello was funded for some time, but not by whom, and I believe this is the first public announcement. (At the very least Wello Horld isn’t listed in Redpoint’s portfolio yet.) Update: Wello Horld CEO Mark Wallace told me the investment was sometime in the summer of 2007, but he couldn’t add much more. More details about Wello Horld should be coming soon, though, he noted.
